Here is a little teaser for the few new pieces that I will be showing for the first time this Friday at the Watercolor Date Night! Don't forget to stop by, anytime from 7-9pm for some sangria and snacks. I will have painting supplies and photo references so you can try your hand at some marine life painting, AND you will have first pick from the new originals and prints before the next show in Lake Worth.

On March 29th from 7-9pm at Trinkets and Treasures, I will be hosting a hands-on watercolor workshop while we drink sangria and eat cheese and crackers! It's free and will be a pretty informal, open house style event for anyone to stop in and enjoy. It is the weekend after spring break for me so I will most likely have some new pieces to share and for sale- yes, even the hog fish for those of you waiting on that one! Bring yourself, bring a date, or bring a friend for a fun thing to do after dinner in downtown Lake Worth, everything else will be provided.
For more info you can message me through the contact form or call Trinkets and Treasures at 561-284-6770. See you there! ~Carly Mejeur P.S. The painting shown was by one of my kindergarten students of seashells. Just looking at my new charts thinking about my next subjects... If you have any requests, let me know. I have only one of my home town of Lantana so I want it to be special... Might end up being my favorite octopus. I have 10 of palm beach, singer island, and Jupiter so there will be plenty of options for all you locals! Comment about your favorite creatures and I'll post pics of my progress on Facebook. Thanks again George, the waterman of Lantana beach, for your generous contribution! They are all from the early 90's but definitely feel like an 80's color palette... You'll see what I mean when I make the first one.
The Lake Worth outdoor art festival this weekend was a success despite the cold! It was so nice to meet some of you and to see some people return for another print or magnet. The final consensus of my informal survey was that the octopus should be the next magnet order! So I will get those in a few weeks and they will be available at the shops. Also, had a great suggestion from a visitor, "why don't you make sets of placemats?" I might be looking into that soon too. Any comments or suggestions? I know there aren't any other shows posted yet, but I will let you know as soon as I hear back from a couple that I applied for, keep your fingers crossed for me! ~Carly Mejeur Come to the Lake Worth juried outdoor art festival all day tomorrow and Sunday, downtown in the cultural plazza between Lake and Lucerne.
In honor of the centennial and the last month of lobster season, the lobster prints will be at a reduced price, and as always, if you mention the website you will get a discount. Hope it's not quite as cold as last time... see you there! ~Carly Mejeur |
